The municipality has revived the traditional neckerchief to identify the entire town during the 'Assumption ' festivities.
The City Council and the Festival Committee have decided to revive the use of the neckerchief as a traditional element of 'La Asunción', to foster a sense of unity in the municipality and as an identifying element of the Zaidín festivities.
" We believe it was an element that had to be recovered and permanently established , to create that link between all the residents as an identifying element of Zaidín and of our main festivities, " the Festival Committee stated.
The color blue has been chosen because it is a very representative shade of the town. This color is found on the coat of arms and is also a color adopted by several sports clubs in the municipality, such as Datchball, the Cycling Club, and CD Zaidín, whose players and staff will be the official announcers of this year's festivities.
The scarf will be given away with the purchase of this year's festival pass, which will not increase in price compared to last year. The scarf features the phrase " SIC DE SAIDI ," a common feature in the local dialect.
The initiative has been very well received among the town's residents and, without a doubt, this year the 'La Asunción' festivities will experience their own unique blue wave amidst orchestras, a trailer, a peña area, a mobile disco, correfocs and countless other activities.
