On Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd, two new workshops will be held, the first on wind and percussion instruments and the second on string instruments.
The Fraga City Council, in collaboration with local associations and residents, has organized a series of workshops dedicated to the traditional music of the Ball de Coques . During the weekend of March 21st and 22nd , the multipurpose hall at the bus station will host several free workshops focused on wind, percussion, and string instruments.
These technical workshops aim to teach and refresh the music of the plaza dances and the sarao, fundamental elements of the cultural heritage of Fraga.
Saturday, March 21: Wind and Percussion Workshops
The first day will focus on wind and rhythm instruments. The workshop will be led by Miguel Ángel Forner and Nuria Montull from 11:00 AM to 13:00 PM.
The technical training will include:
- Dulzaina and Gaita de boto.
- Traditional percussion.
- Other instruments related to the square dances of Fraga.
Sunday, March 22: String Workshops (Jota, Seguidilla and Fandango)
On Sunday, the program moves to string music under the direction of Sergi Masip García , also from 11:00 to 13:00.
This workshop focuses specifically on the Jota, Seguidilla, and Fandango popular genres of the sarao , direct influences on the Ball de Coques. The organizers invite anyone with the following instruments to participate:
- Guitar and guitar player.
- Bandurria.
- Lute.
- Fiddle.

Both workshops will be held in an air-conditioned room for the comfort of the participants. The activity is free and open to the public , reinforcing the inclusive nature of this local tradition.
