Back to school for football in the Bajo/Baix Cinca

Football and futsal results from Bajo/Baix on May 3rd and 4th

Match schedules and Monday predictions are back after the summer break. And they return with several teams making their debut in different categories than last season.

Everyone knows what the arrival of September means. And there's little point in dwelling on the negatives, so let's turn our attention for a moment to the good news: football is back in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region. Not to all the local pitches, of course, but the tension of waiting to see how Monday's football pools will turn out is back. This season we'll be focusing on the same leagues we put on hold last June, although there's one important return: UD Fraga has returned to the Tercera RFEF (fourth tier), so it's time to take another look at the national schedules.

Third RFEF

On May 17th, the big news arrived: after a dominant run through the regional league , UD Fraga secured their return to the third tier . The road wasn't easy (nothing is in regional football), but the final results told a different story: they practically crushed every opponent they faced each weekend. Can they maintain that level? The adventure begins tomorrow, Saturday, at 17:00 PM in Robres.

Preferred Regional

With their neighbors' promotion, Ontiñena will be our sole representative in the Regional Preferente league . After a preseason with its share of ups and downs, including an early exit from the Copa Diputación , the Ontiñena side will be aiming for at least a season as comfortable as the last. They were never in danger of relegation and, to top it off, even managed to challenge the league leaders.

Their first match of the 26/27 season will see them host Atlético Binéfar at 18:00 PM on Sunday at El Balsal.

First Regional

In the regional first division, unlike the previous category, we do have a significant presence. Peña Fragatina, Mequinenza, and Fraga B remain . The latter was the absolute protagonist of the summer's saga, securing their place on the field, then being relegated due to other results, having their appeal rejected, and finally, having their spot confirmed after Sariñena's problems.

In sporting terms, the Peñistas make their debut away from home against Monzón (Sunday, 17:00 PM), while Fraga and Mequinenza open fire under the watchful eye of their fans: against Robres and Almudévar, respectively, on Sunday at 18:00 PM.

Second Regional

We'll also have three teams represented in the second regional division: the traditional Zaidín and Osso de Cinca will be joined by CD Belver , who were relegated. In fact, they're the only ones making their home debut, although we'll have to wait until September 20th for that.

Indoor football

The regional representatives, Bodegas Sommos Fraga and Torrente FS, will return to competition in October, while this September they face their preseason matches to prepare for the next season.
