Provincial Council Cup

The Provincial Council Cup has been launched, a unique tournament to promote the region and support clubs in the province, with €10.000 in prizes.

The countdown has begun for the inaugural edition of the Huesca Provincial Council Cup , following its presentation at El Alcoraz Stadium in the city of Huesca. This innovative project has been made possible through close collaboration between the Huesca Provincial Council and the Aragonese Football Federation , with the aim of strengthening regional unity and supporting clubs in the province. Teams from the Third Division and the Regional Preferente league can register until July 31st , and the competition will kick off on August 8th. The grand final will take place on August 28th at El Alcoraz , with a total of €10.000 in cash prizes to be awarded to the top four teams.

The president of the Provincial Council of Huesca, Isaac Claver, and the president of the Aragonese Football Federation, Manuel Torralba, accompanied by the president of SD Huesca, Agustín Lasaosa, were in charge of announcing all the details of this tournament.

In addition, representatives from the various clubs attended the official presentation and had the opportunity to contribute their proposals in several working meetings. Two teams from the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, UD Fraga and Ontiñena FC , were part of the group photo at the launch of the 'Diputación Cup'.

Claver emphasized “the enthusiasm with which a unique project, the first of its kind in Aragon, has been born ; created to unite fans, players, clubs … and designed primarily to give visibility and recognize the great work done by grassroots football , which, although not professional, I know very well and consider essential in our province.”

The tournament will be played on local football pitches., during the Wednesdays of August, through the traditional system of cup with single-elimination matches From the round of 16 onwards. The competition will feature 10.000 euros in cash prizes For all participating teams: 4.000 for the first place, 3.000 for the second, 2.000 euros for the third and 1.000 for the fourth.

There will also be raffles and gifts for the public attending the different matches, which will be free of charge, including the grand final..
