The alleged perpetrator was wanted for drug trafficking in Morocco, among other crimes. He was remanded in custody without bail at the Zuera Penitentiary Center, pending extradition.
Agents from the Fraga Civil Guard station, in their work aimed at clarifying crimes that occurred in their district, managed to identify the perpetrator of a robbery with force inside a vehicle and a vehicle damage crime, both of which occurred in the town of Fraga between April 30 and May 1 of this year.
Initially having very little data to solve the case, the line of investigation opened by the acting agents quickly bore fruit; various efforts provided clues, which ended with the identification of the perpetrator.
Once the alleged perpetrator of the acts was known, the agents created a request for collaboration from other police forces on May 4, since it was suspected that he was not in the Bajo Cinca area, and he was arrested by the Guardia Urbana and Mossos d'Esquadra of Lleida on May 5, and placed at the disposal of the Guardia Civil of Fraga for his custody on the same day.
The detainee had no known address, having wandered through various areas of Catalonia since entering Spain in 2017. The Fraga Territorial Judicial Police Team was able to identify him, which led to the discovery that, in addition to other prior offenses for similar acts, he had an arrest warrant for extradition to his country of origin, issued by INTERPOL to satisfy the request of the Moroccan judicial authorities, and that it was related to an alleged drug trafficking offense that occurred in Morocco.
On May 6, the detainee, a 34-year-old man, was brought before the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Fraga (Huesca) where, in addition to addressing the case for crimes against property and the socio-economic order, he appeared via video conference before the Central Court of Instruction No. 06 of the National Court of Madrid at the request of the judicial authorities of Morocco, who decreed his unconditional and communicable imprisonment without bail in the Zuera Penitentiary Center (Zaragoza), pending his extradition.
