The liturgical program will take place between March 22 and April 5 with celebrations in San Pedro, San Salvador and Litera
The parish of Fraga has announced its program of religious events for Holy Week , which began with Passion Sunday on March 22nd and will continue until April 5th in various churches throughout the municipality. The schedule includes masses, liturgical celebrations, confessions, and processions, primarily held in the churches of San Pedro, San Salvador, and Litera.
Following the official start with the celebration of Passion Sunday, the next event on the schedule is set for this Thursday (March 26), the date chosen for the Sacrament of Reconciliation , with confessions available at 11:00 a.m. in San Salvador and at 19:00 p.m. in San Pedro. The following day, Friday, March 27, will be Good Friday , with the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin at 18:45 p.m. in San Pedro, followed by a Mass in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows at 19:00 p.m.
Palm Sunday will be celebrated on Sunday, March 29, as the calendar indicates. However, early Masses have been scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 19:00 p.m. in San Salvador and at 20:00 p.m. in San Pedro. On Sunday itself, the celebrations will be held at Litera (10:00 a.m.), San Pedro (11:00 a.m.), and San Salvador (12:00 p.m. and 20:00 p.m.). Additionally, before Holy Thursday and Good Friday, the Chrism Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, in Barbastro , departing from the Fraga bus station at 17:30 p.m. To attend, it will be necessary to reserve a place in the sacristies of San Pedro or San Salvador.
On Thursday, April 2nd, Holy Thursday, the Lord's Supper will be celebrated in Litera (16:30 PM), San Salvador (17:30 PM), and San Pedro (19:00 PM) . That same day, the Holy Hour will take place at 22:00 PM in San Pedro and San Salvador.
Good Friday (April 3) will begin with the Stations of the Cross at 09:30 a.m. at the Castle, starting from the Church of San Pedro . In the afternoon, the Passion of the Lord will be commemorated in Litera (16:30 p.m.), San Salvador (17:30 p.m.), and San Pedro (19:00 p.m.). If all goes according to plan, Good Friday should conclude with the Procession of Silence at 20:00 p.m.
On Holy Saturday, April 4, the Easter Vigil will be celebrated in San Salvador at 21:00 p.m. and in San Pedro at 10:00 p.m. The program will conclude on Sunday, April 5, with Easter Sunday , with masses in Litera (22:00 a.m.), San Pedro (11:00 a.m.) and San Salvador (12:00 p.m. and 20:00 p.m.).
