From August 5th to 16th, the Les Firetes fairgrounds will host the world's most important traveling burger gastronomic event.
Lleida will once again be the gourmet burger capital this summer. From August 5th to 16th, The Champions Burger will land at the Les Firetes fairgrounds, giving the city's residents the chance to sample this year's innovative recipes and choose their favorites to compete for the title of "Best Burger of 2026."
Having become one of the biggest gastronomic phenomena of the moment and backed by millions of followers, the festival arrives with its new tour The Big Game and a completely renewed stage show inspired by the American football league and designed to surprise.
The Champions Burger returns to Catalonia after its success in Barcelona with the same route and in Cornellà de Llobregat at RCD Espanyol's stadium. Now it's Lleida's turn, a city that embraced the festival's food trucks last year.
An experience that goes far beyond a hamburger
For twelve days, Les Firetes will be transformed into a veritable open-air stadium. The aesthetics of major NFL games will set the tone: entrances with sports-themed scenery, immersive lighting, themed zones, and interactive experiences will engage the Lleida crowd. At The Big Game, gastronomy and entertainment go hand in hand. Attendees can discover some of the most viral burgers of the moment in an environment designed to experience the competition both on and off the grill, with an atmosphere that makes every visit feel like part of the game.
Top restaurants will compete to win over the Lleida public
A total of 18 restaurants and their chefs from various regions will participate in this stop of the tour, operating from their famous food trucks. Catalonia will be very well represented with three burgers that combine technique, ingredients, and innovation to compete among the best.
Gala Urban Food, from the province of Barcelona, will present “ La Jefa”, a recipe made with artisan brioche , beef medallion, Iberian bacon cooked in a wood-fired oven, smoked mayonnaise, double smoked Monterey Jack cheese and crispy onion.
From Tarragona will come Burguitos , which will compete with " Sexy" , a hamburger made with black brioche bread , Galician beef ribeye, caramelized Texas Ranch bacon, American cheese, crispy potatoes and smoked mayonnaise.
Also appearing will be Barcelona's El Surtidor On Fire , last year's local winner in Lleida, who will defend their title with their popular " Imperial Wagyu ." This dish is one of the most acclaimed on the tour: both in Barcelona and at RCD Espanyol's stadium, it was voted the local crowd favorite for its A5 Wagyu sliver , aged ribeye steak, edible tsubaki (camellia) flower, smoked cheese, Yoichi wine onion marmalade, Hokkaido cheese foam, and Geisha sauces.
Premium recipes
Meat continues to be the star of the festival. Lleida will sample premium cuts of certified origin, cooked to order on the grill, with original combinations of ingredients and new interpretations of hamburgers.
Residents of Lleida will also have the opportunity to try the award-winning " Blue Diamond" beer , which took home three top prizes in 2025. The food offerings will be rounded out with Ybarra 's potato chips, Cheeck's fried chicken , and a dessert area featuring Ioan 's donuts and cheesecakes from Sandguix and Seixis.
The public has the final say
With free entry, the public decides. After tasting the burgers , it's time to vote and move the scoreboard. Simply scan the QR code on your receipt and rate each burger based on the bun, the meat, the mix of ingredients, the presentation, and originality.
The three burgers with the most votes will take their places on the podium in Lleida, and the local favorite will receive a special mention. At the end of the tour, only one will win the title of "Best Burger."
