On Wednesday, April 17, the semi-final of the XXXII Aragonese Mathematical Olympiad for 2nd ESO students was held at the IES Bajo Cinca in Fraga, organized by the Aragonese Society «Pedro Sánchez Ciruelo» of Mathematics Teachers (SAPM)
A total of 25 students in their second year of ESO at the IES Bajo Cinca, IES Ramón J. Sender and IES Sabina Albar (Bujaraloz) schools registered to participate in this test, which consisted of solving six varied mathematical problems in a fun, creative and motivating environment, trying to encourage students to develop their mathematical skills and enjoy them.
The Fraga location is one of 17 venues throughout Aragon that have hosted more than 800 schoolchildren, who, on their own initiative and motivated by their teachers and families, have chosen to dedicate at least one afternoon to having a different experience with Mathematics.
Following this semi-final, the final will take place in Zaragoza in May. This final regional stage will determine Aragon's representative in the 34th National Mathematical Olympiad, which will be held in June.
