From August 25 to 29, 2024, Sweden will host World Water Week 2024, organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
This World Water Week is a strategic focal point for addressing water issues worldwide. Its aim is to foster reflection on the global challenges of water scarcity. This year's theme is "Overcoming Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future ." This forum brings together experts from around the world to analyze and develop solutions to the planet's most pressing water challenges.
To mark this date, we are republishing an article we wrote a few months ago about ' Candasnos and Water Management, ' in which we also spoke with Santiago Guallarte, the town's mayor. He told us about the reservoirs and the history of this dryland area within the Bajo/Baix Cinca region.
On another note, and as an aside, given that this World Water Week is being celebrated in Stockholm , the capital of Sweden, it should be noted that this European country has the third highest number of readers of the Diario del Bajo Cinca.
