World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated during the first week of August each year.
With the support of WHO, UNICEF and many ministries of health and civil society partners, World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year during the first week of August (from the 1st to the 7th of the month).
In 2018, the World Health Assembly endorsed World Breastfeeding Week as a key health promotion strategy through a resolution. The campaign, with a different theme each year, aims to promote supportive environments that help women breastfeed—including community and workplace support, with appropriate safeguards in government policies and legislation—as well as the sharing of information about the benefits of breastfeeding and breastfeeding strategies.
At Fraga Dental Clinic, they are experts in pediatric dentistry and have firsthand experience with cases of babies who suffer from breastfeeding problems due to a short lingual frenulum. This situation can be resolved by performing a frenectomy, which improves the baby's sucking ability , both at the breast and with a bottle.

Breastfeeding can act as a force for equality in our society, and efforts must be made to ensure that everyone has access to breastfeeding support and opportunities. It is essential that no one is left behind, especially vulnerable mothers who may need additional support to reduce breastfeeding inequalities. Target groups, including actors throughout the breastfeeding support chain, civil society organizations, governments, policymakers, health systems, workplaces, communities, and parents, will be engaged to close the breastfeeding inequalities gap and support breastfeeding for all, particularly vulnerable groups.
