Javier Ferrer resigned from his position this Thursday. The Bajo/Baix Cinca region has confirmed that the former president will begin a new chapter as a member of the Huesca Provincial Council.
The Bajo/Baix Cinca Regional Council held an extraordinary plenary session this Thursday, April 30, in which the resignation of Javier Ferrer Jordán as president of the institution was officially announced.
Ferrer Jordán, who took office on June 17, 2023, is leaving the position to begin a new stage as a deputy in the Provincial Council of Huesca.
Following the resignation, the first vice president, Rubén Morell, mayor of Torrente de Cinca, assumes the acting presidency. A new plenary session has been called for May 6th, at which the next president of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region will be elected, although the name of the person who will succeed Javier Ferrer has not yet been announced.
