Meeting the objectives of budgetary stability and the spending rule allows the Fraga City Council to approve a credit modification of 619.500 euros for different city improvement projects
This Thursday, July 30th, a new ordinary session of the Fraga City Council took place. Last night, a budget amendment was approved, amounting to € 619.500 , for city improvement projects . Among the works to be carried out thanks to this budget amendment, which passed with votes in favor from the PP, Entre Todos, and Vox parties, and an abstention from the PSOE, are the installation of the Airetas elevator and the improvement of the N-II highway embankment.
According to the council, during the plenary session, other items were also approved, such as the initial approval of the corrected text of isolated modification no. 57 of the PGOU, the initial approval of the municipal ordinance regulating establishments for the exercise of harmless activities, the specific modification of the City Hall staff roster, the general account for the 2025 fiscal year, the demarcation of the municipal boundary with Alcarrás, the withdrawal of the titles of perpetual honorary mayor and adopted son of the city from Francisco Franco, and the modification of the internal regulations of the Conservatory.
Regarding the budget amendment for replacing the escalators with an elevator on Airetas Street, a supplementary appropriation of €117.500 was approved . This amount, together with a grant from the Provincial Council of Huesca's (DPH) POS (Provincial Works Plan) valued at €186.000, will allow the execution of this project, whose total investment amounts to approximately €370.000. This will put an end to the ongoing problems that have plagued the escalators since their installation more than two decades ago. As for the improvement of the slope along the old N-II highway, the work, valued at €85.000, will consist of cleaning, leveling, and paving the hillside near the large bridge located in the vicinity of La Pinada.
This budget amendment also includes other items such as 72.500 euros for improving street paving, 57.500 euros for road repairs , 50.000 euros for renovating playground equipment in parks, 32.500 euros for renovating the changing rooms at the municipal brigade warehouse, 40.000 euros for replacing traditional lighting with LED lighting, 45.000 euros for expanding the water treatment plant's filters, 37.500 euros for maintaining the Sala Florida, 67.500 euros for maintaining sports facilities, 7.500 euros for Cruz Blanca for the 'Fraga Convive' project, and 7.000 euros for the Dones de Fraga association for its 50th anniversary.
In this regard, the mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, pointed out that "these mid-year economic injections, coming from the surplus, are possible thanks to having healthy accounts , having the capacity to save and complying with spending rules."
