Spring recommendations for agricultural fields

Marco Pardo, technical director of Agrostock , gives us some recommendations for fruit trees during this spring

Spring has arrived in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, a crucial time for agriculture. In the coming weeks, fruits like cherries and nectarines will begin to ripen to their optimal harvest point. Therefore, among other factors, it's essential to provide the right nutrients to achieve the desired size and color in agricultural production and extend the fruit's shelf life after harvest.

Agrostock's technical director, Marco Pardo, is a professional with many years of experience and extensive knowledge of the sector, so we have asked him for some recommendations to improve the health and nutrition of fruit trees at this time of year.

If we are talking about a young cherry orchard , Pardo recommends applying a formulation that improves the root system , as well as the establishment and development of the crops, such as Starter Kit based on Elicitech²® technology.

On the other hand, if we're dealing with a cherry orchard, whose harvest is expected between the end of April and mid-May , Marco currently recommends foliar applications like Elicitech Increase , which provide potassium to the plant . Potassium is an essential nutrient for plants and is required in large quantities for growth and reproduction. It is the second most required nutrient by plants, after nitrogen, and influences the shape, size, color, and flavor of the fruit.

However, for other types of fruit, such as the Northern Nectarine , which is typically harvested starting in late May or early June , a formulation that provides calcium to the tree is recommended. Nanocrop Calcium is an ideal product for this purpose; it hardens the fruit and extends its post-harvest life. Furthermore, it is formulated with calcium nanoparticles combined with a carrier element, which improves its absorption and translocation within the plant.

These are three recommendations from the technical director of Agrostock to improve the health of some fruit trees in the Bajo/Baix Cinca area during April and achieve a more optimal harvest. However, it is advisable to consult directly with professionals for more specific advice.
