Royal Decree 355/2024 has introduced significant changes to the Supplementary Technical Instruction (ITC) relating to elevators in Spain. - Elevator Log: The owner must ensure that the elevator is properly registered with the competent authorities.
- Maintenance Contract: It is mandatory to contract a maintenance service with an authorized and registered company.
- Updated Documentation: Maintain and update all technical documentation of the elevator, including inspection and maintenance reports.
- Reporting Incidents: Notify the authorities of any relevant incident that may compromise the safety of the elevator.
On the other hand, Salleras Elevación also explains that the maintenance of the elevators has been subject to several modifications , to ensure safe and efficient operation:
- Maintenance Frequency:
- Every 4 months: In elevators in single-family homes and elevators installed in residential buildings with up to three stops and that do not serve more than 20 homes.
- The other elevators: each monthno less than 20 days and no more than 45 days may elapse between each review.
- Remote Monitoring Systems: The installation of remote monitoring systems is encouraged to enable early detection of faults and efficient management of preventive maintenance.
- Technician CertificationThe technicians in charge of maintenance must be certified according to the new regulations and receive continuous training to stay abreast of the latest developments and regulations.
