Summer is here, the holidays are starting and our region is buzzing with sporting and cultural activities for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
The program of summer activities in our region is extensive; here are some suggestions for the coming weeks.
Escape Room in Torrente de Cinca
The free activity "Active Youth" offers an escape room on Saturday, June 8th at 5:30 p.m. at the Sports Center. It's a physical and mental adventure game where participants must solve a series of riddles and puzzles against the clock. To register, go to the Town Hall or sign up through their social media channels. Minors must bring parental/guardian authorization. Who will decipher the Tower of Babel?
Culture on the Road arrives in Candasnos
On Sunday, June 16th at 20 pm, a circus and contemporary dance show by the Du'K'tO company is scheduled to take place in the Plaza de las Piscinas. They will present "A Rienda Suelta" (Unleashed), a circus and movement performance for all ages that places human relationships, play, and public space at the heart of the creation. This performance calls for participation and collective vitality to transform reality, revitalize public space, and foster a sense of community. Intimacy, humor, and fluidity are used to create connections with the performers and among the audience.
Swimming pools
The season will kick off on Sunday, June 9th at the Fraga and Miralsot facilities, while children's swimming and aqua aerobics classes will begin on July 1st. This summer, the La Estacada pools will also host children's swimming and aqua aerobics classes. Pre-registration for the first two weeks of July will be open until June 20th. Torrente de Cinca announces the opening of its pools on Saturday, June 15th.
Registration is now open for the International Descent of the Cinca River
The Cinca River descent, with both high-level competition and popular categories, between Fraga and Mequinenza, celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The organizers have made it possible for interested parties to rent complete equipment. This equipment is limited and will be allocated strictly in order of registration, with single and double boats available. This year, the organizers are maintaining the limit of 500 paddlers for the popular category . There is no limit on participation in the competitive and federated category, which is part of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) calendar, but registration must be done through the Aragonese Canoe Federation. Although the event is scheduled for August 25th, registration is now open for the most popular sporting event in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region, either at the Comarca headquarters or directly on their website: www.descensodelcinca.com
Pre-registration in the “Gric i Groc” Urban Colonies of the Bajo/Baix Cinca Region
This summer, as every year, a large number of children are expected to participate and come to enjoy the program's activities.
The CEIP María Moliner school in Fraga is hosting this initiative so that young children can enjoy a summer full of activities during July and August . Pre-registration will take place at the headquarters of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region , located at Calle Manuel Alabart, nº 23 in Fraga, or through the regional entity's website.
The Gric i Groc urban summer camps are a public service created to meet the needs of children and young people, with the aim of promoting work-life balance for families. The fee is €90 per month for half-day attendance and €186 per month for full-day attendance.
Summer Play Center and Summer Fest in Mequinenza
Registration for the play center, which will run from June 24th to August 30th, is about to close . The last day to register is June 7th.
In a more festive atmosphere, the town celebrates Summer Fest on June 21st and 22nd, starting at 11 pm in the town's Truck Parking area next to the Capri venue. It kicks off on Friday the 21st with The Aguateques from Vilanova i la Geltrú, playing pop and disco ranging from the 70s to current urban music. The opening night lineup also includes La Buena Onda with Jadey, a street band whose feel-good videos filmed on Paseo de la Independencia in Zaragoza have gone viral with millions of views, and DJ Rialto, the king of the afternoon and nightlife scene in the Aragonese capital, with a late-night set. On Saturday the 22nd, the Zaragoza indie scene takes center stage with Ziro, who will present songs from their debut album, "Falso techo," in a dynamic and energetic live performance that blends elements of rock, pop, and folk. The evening will continue with Copacabana Indie-Pop, another local act, with a complete tribute to national indie pop featuring songs by Arde Bogotá, Viva Suecia, Leiva, La la love you, Izal, Lori Meyers and Vetusta Morla, and with DJ Andrew, who will close the Festival.
