The Festival of Castles reaches its final stop this weekend. Fraga will be the town chosen to close the ninth edition of this cultural event, which throughout the summer has brought the performing arts to various heritage sites in Aragon. From September 4th to 6th , the program will feature cutting-edge dance , music , and theater performances in the Lo Castell area , bringing to a close an edition that has visited 11 Aragonese municipalities.

The program will begin on Friday, September 4th , at 20:00 pm , outside Lo Castell, with Led Silhouette and Los Perros , a dance piece created and directed by Marcos Morau and performed by Jon López and Martxel Rodríguez . The piece addresses the dehumanization and isolation of contemporary society and, through the body and movement, proposes a reflection on the need for others, empathy, generosity, and love as forms of resistance.
The day continues at 23:00 PM on the indoor stage of Lo Castell with Luis Fercán , one of the leading names in the new singer-songwriter scene. The Galician musician will present a performance built on the depth of his lyrics and his distinctive raspy voice, as part of his tour for his latest album, Postales Perdidas (Lost Postcards). Since launching his solo career in 2016, Fercán has developed a trajectory that has taken him to venues and festivals in Spain and Portugal, as well as touring Mexico.
On Saturday, September 5 , the program will begin at 20:00 p.m. , outside Lo Castell, with Victoria P. Miranda and And then… , a dance piece in which the artist reflects on change as a natural process and on the ability to find beauty in every stage of life.
At 23:00 p.m. , Carmen París will present " Paris at the Piano ," an intimate performance in which the Aragonese artist revisits part of her repertoire accompanied only by the piano. The show seeks a direct connection with the audience and combines the roots of Aragonese music with other influences that are part of París's musical universe.
On both Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening, in the outdoor area of the castle there will be a chill out zone with food trucks and ambient music by the Huesca-based DJ Sistac.
The festival will reach its final day on Sunday, September 6, starting at 18:00 p.m. , inside Lo Castell, with Cía. Los Números Imaginarios and Hamlet entre todos, a participatory theatre proposal by Carlos Tuñón , in which the public becomes an active part and is immersed in a celebratory party.
With this program, Fraga brings to a close a summer in which castles, fortresses, and historical sites in Aragon have become stages for contemporary creation. The town also contributes a site particularly linked to the city's history: Lo Castell , the former Gothic church of San Miguel, built between the late 13th and early 14th centuries and later converted into a military barracks during the Carlist Wars. The building, popularly known as Castell ever since, has been restored and adapted for new cultural uses.
Throughout this ninth edition, the Festival of Castles has toured 11 municipalities in Aragon with a diverse program that has combined music, theater, dance, circus, humor, magic and other contemporary proposals, using heritage as a meeting point between culture and territory.
The Festival of Castles has the support of Turismo de Aragón and the collaboration of the participating municipalities and local and regional entities, committing to cultural decentralization and to boosting the tourist, social and economic potential of the towns that host it.

The Aragon Castles Festival was launched in 2017 with the aim of creating a cultural network centered around Aragon's fortified heritage. Since then, the project has grown into a traveling performance festival that uses castles and emblematic sites as unique venues, activating these locations through contemporary culture and promoting access to artistic programming in rural areas.
The festival thus reinforces its role as a tool for cultural, social and economic revitalization of the territory, while contributing to highlighting the historical and architectural heritage of the participating municipalities.
