Vetusta Morla sold out their show on Friday, July 12th, and conquered the floating stage in Lanuza.
The first weekend of the Pyrenean festival was marked by the sounds and artistry of flamenco, with Estrella Morente and Israel Fernández headlining the event. The second half was filled with traditional folk music and its contemporary reinterpretations, featuring Rodrigo Cuevas and Loreena McKennitt , not forgetting the pop music of Vetusta Morla , who sold out their Friday evening performance on July 12th.
No festival or venue could resist the Madrid-based band, who captivated audiences from the very first song with their new album and greatest hits. Nearly 5.000 people enjoyed Vetusta Morla 's live performance , conquering the floating stage in Lanuza. The band had announced they would be taking a break after this tour, and thousands of devoted fans didn't want to miss their show at Pirineos Sur. For two hours, they revisited some of the most emblematic tracks from their discography, songs that have established them as leading figures in pop and independent music both nationally and internationally.
Vetusta Morla burst onto the scene with unprecedented force more than 15 years ago with " Un día en el mundo " (A Day in the World). Since then, they have continued to win over new audiences and dominate every festival they've played. For their first time at Pirineos Sur, they took to the stage to a sold-out crowd that had been waiting for weeks. Their greatest hits, along with songs from their excellent new album, "FIGURANTES," brought a warm and vibrant atmosphere to the Huesca night.
Before the liturgy, the promising Airu performed in Lanuza . The band from Bilbao arrived with their debut album, "Con lo bueno y con pena" (With the Good and the Sad), an indie-inspired work with dream pop influences. Exquisite guitars and keyboards were the stars of an hour-long set that included already standout tracks like "Voy tan deprisa" (I'm Going So Fast) and "Coloco los pies" (I Place My Feet).
After the festival's most crowded weekend, this week brings the more edgy lineup. On Wednesday the 17th, Melendi will take to the floating stage in Lanuza, and the following day, Thursday the 18th, El Drogas and Tarque will perform , marking the halfway point of Pirineos Sur. The concerts will continue throughout the weekend, with exciting acts such as Sara Baras and Carmen Linares (Friday the 19th), Rawayana and Baiuca (Saturday the 20th), and La Plazuela and Iseo & Dodosound (Sunday the 21st).
