More than 2.300 tickets for children sold confirm the renewal of the audience and the family experience as values of this 33rd edition
Pirineos Sur closes its 33rd edition after three weeks in which the floating stage in Lanuza once again became a meeting point for music, cultures, generations, and audiences. The festival attracted 42.000 attendees over 12 days , with four sold-out nights and a strong presence of families.
The program has brought together major international and national figures, artists closely linked to the festival's history, and some of the most exciting acts on the current scene. Rufus Wainwright, José González, Suede, Nacho Vegas, Los Planetas, Christina Rosenvinge, Bomba Estéreo, Rubén Blades, Monsieur Periné, Dani Fernández, Valeria Castro, Carlos Ares, LA MODA, Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, and Judeline are just some of the names that have graced the stage of Lanuza's natural amphitheater this year.
A variety of styles and origins that once again defines the identity of Pirineos Sur: a festival capable of bringing together singer-songwriters, pop, rock, indie, salsa, electronic and traditional music on the same program, maintaining its international vocation and its commitment to discovering new ways of understanding musical creation.
The public has once again embraced the diversity of Pirineos Sur, with attendees hailing from all five continents and representing 66 nationalities . While Spain remains the primary country of origin, international attendance is growing, particularly from Germany and France , along with a strong presence from Latin America and countries such as Canada and Australia. In Spain, the Community of Madrid leads ticket sales for the first time, accounting for 21%, ahead of Aragon (15%) and Catalonia (10%). Furthermore, 61% of the audience were women, and 45% were between 25 and 34 years old . These figures confirm the festival's positive evolution, maintaining similar numbers to 2015, when it reached 47.000 attendees over 13 days, one more than this year.
In the words of Carlos Samperiz, Deputy for Culture of the Provincial Council of Huesca , “Pirineos Sur once again demonstrates that a small town in the Pyrenees can build a cultural offering capable of engaging with the world. The mountains are not merely a backdrop for this festival: they are its origin, its very essence, and the reason why every concert in Lanuza is unique. The artistic coexistence of such diverse musical styles explains what Pirineos Sur represents better than any label.”
Amalia Ortiz, director of Pirineos Sur , stated that "the figures are once again excellent and solidify Pirineos Sur as one of the major summer festivals. Beyond the numbers, we highlight the growth in family attendance, the excellent performance of advance ticket sales, and the positive reception of the improved mobility options." With 2.300 tickets sold , the record attendance of minors confirms that Pirineos Sur is an increasingly intergenerational festival and a driving force for the local economy, bringing life to the valley.” He also noted that “the new Ruta del Sur, with buses from Sabiñánigo and Biescas, has further connected the region.” Regarding the cultural offerings, “we opted for a very diverse program, highlighting the maestro Rubén Blades, recipient of the 2026 Pirineos Sur Award for Cultural Diversity, and featuring a blend of styles, generations, and even different international and national languages, as there were performances in Basque, Catalan, and Aragonese, among others.”
