A construction worker died Wednesday at a construction site in Ballobar after being trapped by the arm of a telescopic ladder . The worker, who was a month away from retirement, was rescued by emergency crews and taken in critical condition to the Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida, where he died hours later.

Following the tragic event, the trade unions CCOO Aragón and UGT Aragón have called a protest and memorial rally to denounce the lack of preventive measures and demand greater control in matters of occupational safety and health.
The event will take place on Friday, February 20th at 11:00 AM at the Constitution Monument on Paseo de la Constitución in Zaragoza . Speakers will include Luis Clarimón , occupational health secretary of CCOO Aragón, and José de las Morenas , occupational health officer of UGT Aragón.
