The Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon will take place from August 28th to 30th with tight qualifications in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, in addition to the debut in Spain of the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup
MotorLand Aragón is now on the horizon for the MotoGP World Championship . The Alcañiz circuit will host the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragón from August 28th to 30th , an event that comes at a particularly interesting time in the championship and could play a significant role in the fight for the titles in all three categories.
The Aragon race will be the thirteenth round of the calendar and comes after the World Championship's stop at Silverstone, where several classifications became even more open. In MotoGP, Jorge Martín will arrive at MotorLand as the championship leader , although several riders are still in contention. Among them is Marc Márquez, who will return to one of his most successful circuits: he has won eight times at the Aragon track and will be looking to close the gap in front of his home crowd.

The premier class arrives with Jorge Martín leading the pack and the Aprilias setting the pace for the championship since the start of the season. Behind them, Marco Bezzecchi will try to close the 31-point gap to his teammate, while Ai Ogura remains 37 points off the lead. Marc Márquez, 40 points adrift, will face a crucial opportunity at MotorLand to move closer to the top spot on a circuit where he has historically been one of the strongest riders.
The Grand Prix will also be important for other riders looking to gain ground in the championship standings. Fabio Di Giannantonio, Raúl Fernández—winner at Silverstone—Pedro Acosta, Pecco Bagnaia, and Álex Márquez are among the names expected to fight for top positions in Alcañiz. Joan Mir and Álex Rins, the latter with Aragonese roots, will also be competing, while the return of Fermín Aldeguer and Maverick Viñales after their respective injuries remains uncertain.

In Moto2, Manuel González will head to the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragón as the championship leader after a disappointing finish at Silverstone. The Spanish rider has a 42,5-point advantage over Izan Guevara, who will be looking to close the gap in the championship fight. Senna Agius, Iván Ortolá, and Daniel Holgado are also among the riders with a chance of battling for the top positions.
The intermediate category will also feature a strong Spanish contingent. Alonso López, Daniel Muñoz, Álex Escrig, José Antonio Rueda, Alberto Ferrández, Arón Canet, Sergio García Dolls, Ángel Piqueras, and Xabi Zurutuza will all be part of a grid that is sure to generate considerable interest among local fans.
In Moto3, all eyes will be on Máximo Quiles . The leader of the lightweight class missed the Silverstone race due to an injury sustained during qualifying, although he maintains a significant advantage over Álvaro Carpe, his closest rival. If his return at MotorLand is confirmed, Quiles will have the opportunity to defend his 85-point lead in a category that is always unpredictable and boasts a strong Spanish presence, with riders such as David Almansa, Brian Uriarte, Joel Esteban, Adrián Fernández, Jesús Ríos, and Álvaro Cruces.
The Bagger World Cup, a new addition this weekend
This year, the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon will incorporate an additional attraction: MotorLand will be the only event in Spain for the Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup , a new category integrated into the MotoGP environment.
The competition retains the spirit of American bagger racing, with large motorcycles weighing around 280 kg and reaching speeds exceeding 250 km/h. Its presence in Alcañiz will offer a glimpse of a discipline rarely seen on European circuits, and one that already resulted in a very close standings at Silverstone.
Brazilian Eric Granado will arrive at MotorLand as the championship leader, with a five-point advantage over Australian Archie McDonald, winner of the second race held in Great Britain. The series will also feature two Spanish riders: Óscar Gutiérrez, third in the standings 19 points behind the leader, and Jordi Torres, who achieved his first podium finish in this competition at Silverstone.
