The Fraga festival has revealed the date of the celebration in 2025 and warns in its communication that "This is not for you"
Following the success of its thirty-first edition in 2024, held on July 27th, Monegros Desert Festival announces its highly anticipated return on July 26th, 2025. The iconic event will once again bring together thousands of electronic music lovers in one of the world's most unique settings: the Monegros Desert.
For 22 uninterrupted hours, an ephemeral city will rise from nowhere, transforming the arid landscape into a hub of energy and music. More than 50.000 people will come together, as they do every year, to groove to the rhythms of the best DJs on the current electronic and techno scene and experience something truly unique.
An extreme experience in the heart of Monegros
Not everyone dares to face the challenging desert conditions, but the true Monegros locals know that what awaits them goes far beyond a simple party. For one day, a volatile city rises up in the middle of nowhere to become the epicenter of electronic music. More than 50.000 souls gather to the rhythm of the world's best DJs, creating an atmosphere that can only be experienced in this inhospitable and legendary place.
The festival is much more than music; it's a sensory experience where the connection with the environment plays an essential role. As night falls, the desert transforms into an enigmatic landscape where darkness and wind beckon adventure. At dawn, the light reveals the true spirit of Monegros: every grain of sand tells a story, and every step brings you closer to the essence of this unique place.
"This is not for you"
The festival's motto, "This is not for you," is an invitation to embrace the unexpected. Monegros pushes boundaries, and each edition is a challenge for attendees: not only because of its location, but also because of the intensity of the experience. However, those who accept the challenge discover that there's a Monegros spirit waiting to awaken within them.
“There are two types of people from Monegros; those who are from there and those who don't know it yet. This year we are waiting for all of them, because we promise to surpass ourselves in every detail to offer you the festival of your lives,” comment Cruz and Juan Arnau, founders of Monegros.
A shower of musical notes in the desert
“Once again, the sand will vibrate with the bass of our desert sounds. Techno will continue to be the main attraction, but we can’t forget hip hop or drum and bass, along with other urban sounds like dub and dubstep. For the second year, we’re bringing back Psy Trance, courtesy of Own Spirit & our Minds, as well as house and disco, which will be playing in privileged corners of the desert,” says Victor de la Serna, the festival’s Music Director. The 2025 edition of Monegros promises to exceed all expectations, with a lineup that will bring together the best talent in global electronic music. Over the coming months, more details about artists, tickets, and other features will be revealed for this new edition of the festival, which is shaping up to be one of the most epic and immersive to date.
“This year we come loaded with news; we have expanded the venue, improved operations, we will offer more shaded areas and chill-out zones, as well as new and surprising collaborations,” the Arnau family adds.
