Club Atletismo Fraga had a busy weekend with several events to watch, specifically in Zaragoza, Seville, and Barcelona. Let's start with the most important: the standout performance came on Saturday, February 14th, at the Ibercaja Grand Prix in Zaragoza , held at the Príncipe Felipe Pavilion. There, Mireya Oliver , an athlete from Osso de Cinca and currently competing for Hinaco Monzón, achieved the qualifying standard for the Spanish National Championships in the 60-meter dash.
Oliver stopped the clock at 7,75 seconds , lowering her previous personal best, which had stood since 2013. In this way, the sprinter from Bajo Cinca finished second in her semifinal and competed in the final alongside some of the leading specialists in the region, confirming her good form on the indoor track.
Also in the 60 meters, Mariona Salamó recorded a time of 7,94 , consolidating her progress this season. Meanwhile, in the men's category, Iván Gross once again improved his personal best in the same distance , standing out for his start in a race with international athletes competing.
Sunday with athletics events in Zaragoza, Seville and Barcelona
On Sunday, and also on the track of the Aragon Absolute Championship, Mireya Oliver , who completed a demanding program with five races between Saturday and Sunday, doubling 60 and 200 meters, achieved the regional runner-up title in the 60 sprints, closing a weekend of high competitive level.
Another standout was Víctor Pardos , who made his debut as a registered athlete in a senior championship and set a new personal best in the 60 meters , despite finishing the race with physical discomfort. Meanwhile, Ares Gómez finished second in her 200-meter semifinal , improving her season's best time and confirming her upward trajectory of performance.
Beyond the indoor track, the Fraga club also had representation in long-distance events. In the Seville Marathon, Guillem Arnau stopped the clock at 2:47:35 , improving his personal best for the distance. And in the Barcelona Half Marathon, Pau Novellón debuted with a time of 1:11:41 , achieving the qualifying standard for the Spanish Marathon Championships. Also completing the latter race were Alejandro Chueca (1:27:39), Julio Cabrero (1:30:38), Iván Puntos (1:25:14), Carlos Canales (1:39:49), and María Royo (1:45:39).
