The councillor for Agroindustry, Verónica Alins, expects the season to be “within normal limits” in terms of production and prices.
The MercoFraga wholesale fruit market for the Bajo Cinca and Bajo Aragón regions will begin its 2024 season on June 3rd. The market, which handles between two and three million kilos of fruit annually, will be open Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM. New this season, there will be no market on Sundays, a measure implemented to better meet the actual demand from customers.
The Councillor for Agroindustry, Verónica Alins, has stated that the fruit season, “according to initial forecasts, will be within normal limits in terms of production and I hope also in terms of prices.”
“So far, the weather conditions have been better than in other seasons, as there have been no frosts that cause significant losses like in previous years, and during this spring there has been abundant rainfall, so the reservoirs are at optimal levels and farmers will be able to irrigate their fields without the fear of the drought that has threatened the last few seasons,” Alins explained.
