Road repair work has begun on the Castillo de Mequinenza road, specifically on the pavement and sidewalks. The project, which has required traffic to be diverted, covers the section between the junction with the N-211 and the Tanatorio street and complements the work already completed on the following section.
The Mequinenza Town Council has also launched a tree and shrub planting campaign in green areas of the town center. Joaquín Torres Square was the first area where work has been carried out, and it will soon continue in the planters along the road between the Town Hall Square and the path leading up to the Castle. The project will be implemented in phases and gradually in other locations that will be determined later.
The road surface and sidewalk repair work on Castillo Road, awarded by the Mequinenza Town Council to the company Construcciones Camón Gallego for €86.732,80 and with a two-month completion timeframe, is being financed by the Unified Subsidy Plan (PLUS) of the Zaragoza Provincial Council (DPZ). The work is being carried out on the section between the junction with the N-211 and Tanatorio Street. The construction has required traffic to be diverted onto adjacent streets, causing more disruption to users and residents than initially anticipated.
