The city council periodically carries out these works to guarantee public safety by preventing risks from falls or broken branches
The Mequinenza Town Council, together with the Zaragoza Provincial Council Fire Department and the Municipal Brigade, has launched a new phase of preventative measures in the pine forest surrounding the town. The aim of these complex operations, due to the size and location of the trees being removed, is to prevent the risk of falling or broken branches that could cause damage to people or property, thus ensuring safety in the event of, for example, strong gusts of wind.
Last November, the Municipal Brigade already carried out branch trimming in different areas. This week, several trees will be felled and removed due to the danger they pose. These trees are located along the N-211 highway, at the eastern entrance opposite the public washhouse, at the entrance to the Capri grounds, along the riverfront promenade in the area where the schools are located, and in the cemetery, where some cypress trees will be cut down.
These actions are being carried out gradually with the aim of improving safety by implementing preventative measures while also addressing some of the problems caused by the trees due to their growth. The DPZ Fire Department is providing technical advice and collaborating on the work. Later, in a new phase, work will be carried out in other areas of the town center.
