At 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Alvarado San Juan and Valcuerna streets in the town of Peñalba, within the same municipality. The accident involved a collision between a car and a bicycle. As a result, the cyclist sustained serious injuries.
The injured person is an 11-year-old minor and the unharmed driver of the car is 45 years old, both residents of the Los Monegros region.
The cyclist was treated on site by medical personnel from the 061 emergency service and subsequently transferred by 112 helicopter to the Miguel Servet Hospital in the town of Zaragoza.
A motorcycle patrol from the Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard of Fraga, the Accident Investigation Team (EIS) of the Accident Investigation Unit (UNIS) of the Traffic Subsector of the Civil Guard of Huesca, and 061 health services have arrived at the scene.
The Traffic Division of the Civil Guard, based in Huesca, is investigating the possible causes of the accident.
