A national and regional strike by the group is planned for February 16-20, 2026
More than 250 doctors and medical professionals from Aragon participated this Saturday in Madrid in the large demonstration called as a prelude to the national and regional strike planned for February 16-20. The mobilization, organized by Spain's main medical unions with the support of professional associations, is demanding the approval of a specific Framework Statute for the medical profession.
Dressed in white coats, professionals from different parts of the country marched between the Congress of Deputies and the Ministry of Health under the slogan "United", chanting slogans in defense of their labor rights and in favor of pay and organizational improvements to guarantee the sustainability of public health.
From Aragon, the College of Physicians of Zaragoza chartered a bus, which was joined by professionals who traveled by train and in private vehicles.
The unions CESM Aragón and FASAMET emphasize that the strike is not directed solely at the Ministry, but also has a regional scope. In this regard, they are demanding that the Government of Aragón equalize the working conditions and salaries of Aragonese doctors with those of doctors in other regions, among other demands.
