The Sounds in Nature Festival – SoNna Huesca 2026, organized by the Provincial Council, will once again tour unique spaces in Alto Aragón with top-notch artistic offerings.
A total of 27 performances will bring culture to the villages and introduce locals to the unique landscapes and environments of Alto Aragón. Throughout the summer weekends, SoNna Huesca will once again tour the ten districts of Alto Aragón with this traveling festival. As explained by Carlos Sampériz, Deputy for Culture of the Huesca Provincial Council, “it emerged during difficult times, thanks to the cultural staff of the Provincial Council, who designed a very special program, now in its seventh edition. It is a pleasure and an honor to accompany them on this journey throughout the province and bring their offerings to the region,” added Sampériz.
This year the festival will discover venues such as the Los Olmos Park in Binéfar, the amphitheater of the Canfranc international station, the Church of San Martín de Ordovés in Sabiñánigo, the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Aquilué (Caldearenas), the Hermitage of the Vineyard in Loporzano, the Edra Winery in Ayerbe, the Domingo Subías Sculpture Garden in Laspaúles, and the Hermitage of Our Lady of Treviño in Adahuesca; all of them making their debut at the festival.
Artists from France, Colombia, Argentina, the USA, Senegal, Italy, and Peru—to summarize the international participation—but also from Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Galicia, Madrid, and Murcia. Almost all of them share a common denominator: folk music.

“In a context where many cultural events tend to resemble one another,” explained the festival director, Begoña Puértolas, “focusing on folk and traditional music builds a unique and distinct identity, linked to the land. SoNna,” Puértolas added, “aims to demonstrate that innovation and creativity also originate in rural areas, and not solely in large cities.”
The DPH technician highlighted “this year’s program’s connection between jazz music and the wineries participating in the event. Gilipojazz from Madrid will play at Bodega Edra in Ayerbe, Senegalese jazz musician Momi Maiga will perform at Bodega Laus, and El Nido from Castile and León will play at Finca Valonga. “SoNna features both emerging artists and established acts,” explained Begoña Puértolas. The emerging artists include La Bulale & Lana Nova, Terrae, and Nico Miseria, among others; while the established acts include Hermanos Cubero, Joan Miquel Oliver, and Matthieu Saglio.
Among the most recognizable names will be Raúl Refree and El Niño de Elche (Madrid), “a leading figure in contemporary flamenco,” the Spanish-French ensemble Cantaderas, Tori Sparks (USA), and the duo Joaquín Pardinilla and Ernesto Cossío (Aragon); in addition to Luz Casal and Pablo López, who will headline the closing of the seventh edition. In this regard, the new feature of the 7th SoNna Huesca is the €50 season ticket for both concerts at the Cartuja de Sariñena, which cost €30 each in advance. “We thought there could be a large audience interested in the two performances on offer,” explained Begoña Puértolas.
The Provincial Council of Huesca continues its commitment to the Sounds in Nature Festival, SoNna Huesca, which, with its small-format stages in natural enclaves -the vast majority- and in unique urban spaces, has become a commitment to the future that will celebrate its 200th concert this year.

SoNna 2025 Travel Journal
The presentation of the 2026 edition also served as the public launch of the SoNna 2025 Travel Journal, a publication edited by the Huesca Provincial Council and produced by the festival's communications department. "We want to have this travel journal every year as a visual record of the spaces the festival visits and discovers each year, and how they complement the artistic offerings," explained Carlos Sampériz.
The Travel Journal is a 144-page book that chronologically follows the development of the sixth edition of SoNna Huesca through texts and photos that present the landscapes that the festival traveled through in 2025. Photographers such as Sergio Sánchez, Sergio Sanz, Pilar A. García Moyano, Juan Tabuenca or La Colmena Creativa have participated in it.
The main texts are by Sergio Sánchez Lanaspa, and the journal also includes contributions from Luis Lles, Antonio Lachos, and Victoria Falcó. Designed by Blanca Otal and coordinated by Begoña Puértolas, the SoNna Huesca travel journal not only describes the forests, hermitages, wineries, springs, monumental trees, farmhouses, and churches of Alto Aragón that the Sounds in Nature Festival visited last summer, but also recalls the cultural experience in each of those places.
