The fire broke out on the afternoon of Thursday, July 23, 2026, and was quickly brought under control.
The company's safety protocols and the rapid intervention of the Huesca Provincial Council Fire Department (DPH) made it possible to control a fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon at a recycling company in Fraga, preventing the flames from spreading to the rest of the facilities.
The fire broke out around 20:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, affecting a stockpile of material destined for recycling. Plant workers immediately activated the established emergency protocols, managing to initially contain the blaze until the arrival of emergency services.
Later, firefighters from the Fraga and Monzón fire stations of the Provincial Council of Huesca (DPH) took over the firefighting efforts, focusing on containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to other areas of the plant where machinery and more recycling material were stored. The work continued throughout the night and ended around 6:00 a.m. on Friday.
The operation also involved agents from the Fraga Local Police and the Civil Guard, who collaborated in the prevention and perimeter security tasks.
As the company explained, due to the high temperatures and the type of industrial waste they manage, they have specific fire risk protocols in place, especially during the summer months when high temperatures and the nature of certain products increase the likelihood of such incidents. The rapid activation of these procedures, along with the intervention of the emergency services, proved crucial in preventing more significant damage.
