The Higher Level Vocational Training in Industrial Mechatronics and the Intermediate Level Vocational Training in Care for Dependent Persons have joined the training offer of the capital of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region this year.
The mayor of Fraga, Ignacio Gramún, visited students and teachers of the new vocational training programs offered at the city's schools on Monday afternoon . The courses began last Friday. First, Gramún went to the INAEM building, where the Ramón J. Sender Secondary School offers the advanced vocational training program in Industrial Mechatronics. Afterward, he visited the Bajo Cinca Secondary School to learn about the intermediate vocational training program in Care for Dependent Persons.
The degrees in Care for Dependent Persons and in Industrial Mechatronics, together with the rehabilitation of the old San José de Calasanz , will represent a great advance in education during this legislature.
“These training courses that have begun to be offered respond to the requests and demands of the industrial and socio-health sectors of Fraga, and provide an incentive for our young people to stay and study in their city,” explained Gramún, who indicated that it is “an achievement resulting from the joint work of companies, the educational community and the administration.”
With these new programs, in addition to expanding the educational offering, companies in the area will be able to draw on local labor, allowing residents of Fraga and the entire Bajo Cinca region and surrounding areas to broaden their job opportunities through skilled employment positions.
The mayor thanked the Department of Education of the Government of Aragon for "addressing the demands we conveyed to them in a meeting at the beginning of this year, as these were requests that were highly sought after by the people of Fraga in educational matters."
“The introduction of these two new degree programs represents a major step forward for our city in the field of education. During this legislative term, there will be a significant transformation in this area, as, in addition to the new programs, the renovations to the former San José de Calasanz school will also be carried out, the plans for which are currently open for public comment,” the mayor stated.
The renovation of the former school, which has been vacant since 2006, will transform this space, located in the heart of the city, into a Vocational Training Center, bringing together the various vocational programs offered in Fraga. This project, with a budget of approximately €3,3 million, will address the growing demand for new educational spaces from the city's business, educational, and social sectors. Furthermore, it will bring back to life, after 20 years, a building situated in one of the busiest areas of the capital of the Bajo Cinca region.
