Ontiñena CF and the two UD Fraga teams already have their sights set on the first match to be played this Thursday, August 8th.
The countdown is coming to an end: this Thursday, August 8th, marks the start of the historic first edition of the Huesca Provincial Council Cup , a tournament born from the close collaboration between the Huesca Provincial Council (DPH) and the Aragonese Football Federation, and whose main objective is to unite the territory and support the clubs of the province of Huesca.
In a tournament divided into "east" and "west" zones, 16 teams will meet starting this Saturday in this new format. Among them are three teams from the Bajo/Baix Cinca region : UD Fraga (which is fielding both of its reserve teams) and Ontiñena CF. All of them now know their kickoff times: Ontiñena will host CD Tamarite at El Balsal at 8:00 PM, while UD Fraga's two reserve teams will play at 9:00 PM, one at Los Olmos against Binéfar F. Base and the other (UD Fraga B) hosting CD Sariñena.
All the matches, which will be played as single-leg ties at the home ground of the lower-ranked opponent, are Round of 16 fixtures and provide all the contenders with a top-level incentive during their respective preseason preparations. In this regard, both UD Fraga and Ontiñena CF officials have confirmed that these matches are perfect for getting ready for the real competition in September .
