The Aragonese association AEGA, along with thirteen other organizations from across Spain and French farmers, have organized these water cuts . Representatives from the Bajo/Baix Cinca region have already indicated their support for the action and have encouraged all farmers, ranchers, and families to join in.
Representatives of AEGA held a press conference a few days ago at the doors of the Government Delegation in Zaragoza to announce the action that will be carried out jointly between several autonomous communities and French farmers on June 3rd.
The members of the association met with the Chief of Staff of the Government Delegation to convey this action and expose the harassment, through sanctions, that Aragonese farmers and ranchers who have demonstrated during the last few months in several districts of our autonomous community are suffering, according to the note sent by the agricultural and livestock entity.
The meeting, which AEGA described as cordial and productive, served to inform about the traffic disruption that will affect the borders between Spain and France, and to demand a series of measures from both the Spanish Government and the European Union in defense of agriculture and livestock farming, according to the organization.
The action is organized between fourteen Spanish territories and French farmers: Ataca (Treviño and Álava), Asociación Aega (Aragón), Revolta Pagesa (Cataluña), Bagea (Guipúzcoa), Sepricas (Castellón), Magin (Soria), Semilla y Belarra, Plataforma 6f Navarra (Navarra), AGU Burgos, Aguridu (Burgos), Asociación de Agricultores y Ganaderos Libres (Zamora), Aliv (Comunidad Valenciana) Decaleón (León) Sepriman and Agrygal (Castilla León), Adecgu (Guadalajara), Adeccu (Cuenca) and the French Independent Movement.
The areas where these cross-border actions will take place are Irún, Somport, and La Junquera. Representatives from the Bajo/Baix Cinca region have already indicated their support for this initiative and, despite it not being the ideal time for agriculture, as many farms are currently harvesting, they have encouraged all farmers, ranchers, and their families to participate.
