The folk group performed at the 48th Paasfeesten Leuven Festival in the city of Leuven (Belgium) as representatives of Spain
The Rondalla de Peña Fragatina spent Easter week in Belgium and today concludes their stay in the European country. On the night of Wednesday, March 27, they set off for Leuven (Belgium), and Thursday was dedicated to settling in and getting to know the area.
On Friday the 29th, they held sound checks, played games with the other groups in the competition, and gave their first performance at the festival. On Saturday, they held a parade with stops and performances featuring all the groups. Later, despite the rain, they performed in front of the beautiful Leuven Town Hall, where they showcased their rich and varied costumes with the Shawl Dance. Afterwards, there was a reception with the authorities and an exchange of gifts from all the participating countries. Sunday was a day of celebration for Easter in Leuven. In the morning, a small parade took place to St. Peter's Church, where each group presented their folklore during Mass. Afterwards, they held another small parade to the Town Hall, where the Rondalla de Peña Fragatina performed a traditional Belgian dance, "The Kolom."
During these days there has also been time to share meals and meetings with the host families and the other groups, as well as to carry out workshops and dances, learning customs and folklore from other countries.
Today, Monday, April 1st, is the closing of the Festival and the Fraga group ends its journey to the 48th Paasfeesten Leuven Festival as representatives of Spain in this edition.
