The Sacred Heart Residence in Fraga modernizes its facilities

A new automated climate control system is being installed to improve user comfort.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Residence in Fraga continues to adapt and modernize its facilities to improve the comfort and service to resident users.

For approximately seven years, they have been implementing a facility improvement project to update and adapt the premises to current needs, with a view to obtaining the necessary permits for future regulations regarding care for people. Some of the most notable renovations they have undertaken so far include the complete refurbishment of the common areas and bathrooms of the day center , which has allowed them to obtain the permits for the day care service, the creation of six new bedrooms , and the remodeling of the terraces for future projects.

As Natalia Fortón, the residence director, points out, it's always necessary to keep updating and implementing improvements. But currently, they are implementing a comprehensive plan that will allow them to offer a more efficient service to the residents.

Currently, in collaboration with the Fraga-based architecture firm Espacio Diseño , they are installing a climate control system with home automation management . This will allow them to adjust the environmental conditions to meet the comfort needs of each user. In addition to the ventilation system, which includes both heating and cooling, awnings will be installed, also controlled remotely via the home automation system. This will improve the entire lighting and climate control system in the rooms , enabling centralized and automated management.

All these improvements will help to make the most of daylight hours, adjust room temperatures, and tailor the experience to each user's needs . Furthermore, they will significantly improve the residence's energy efficiency and reduce its electricity consumption.

In the near future, as Sergio Agustín from Espacio Diseño explains, everything is expected to be connected to a photovoltaic station on the roof of the building , which will further improve energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

Ultimately, the goal is to offer the greatest comfort to the residents ,” says Natalia Fortón. Improving living conditions and adapting them to the specific needs of each resident is not a simple process, but it is important for the Fraga residence . In this way, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús continues to be a leading center for elderly care in the Bajo/Baix Cinca region. The center has 70 employees, including psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses, caregivers , and social workers , among others. It also offers a wide range of services, such as day care, home care, and short-term stays.

All the improvements being implemented are part of a strategic plan that, among other things, aims to adapt the facilities to the new accreditation model for care homes, which will soon be approved in our autonomous community. This new residential model is based on shared spaces for 15 to 20 residents, with common areas such as a lounge, kitchen, and dining room, where autonomy and community will be fostered, improving the quality of life and comfort of the elderly.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Residence in Fraga has been improving and adapting for years , not only to comply with the new accreditation model for centers, which will soon be mandatory for all residences in our community, but also simply to improve the quality of life of its residents.
