Each photographer may submit a maximum of three images, all of which must feature the town of Mequinenza. Submissions will be accepted until April 12th.
The Museums of Mequinenza have launched a new edition of the "Mequinenza de Foto" photography competition, the sixth, an initiative that invites people to capture, through the lens of a camera, the essence of the municipality and to highlight its landscape, its heritage, the daily life of the town or its tourist potential.
The competition is open to participants aged 18 and over, who may submit up to three photographs per person. The images must feature the town of Mequinenza and reflect some of its characteristic elements, such as its landscapes, rivers, people, or tangible or intangible heritage. All photographs must have been taken within the municipality.
Entries must be submitted through the Mequinenza Museums website, in the section designated for the competition. Participants must include the title of the work, the author's full name, and a contact email address and telephone number. The submission period will remain open until April 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
The selection of the winning photograph, which will receive a selection of artisan products from Mequinenza as a prize, will combine technical criteria and citizen participation, in this case through popular vote during the temporary exhibition of the photographs, which can be visited at the History Museum during the "Sant Jordi al Poble Vell" festival in 2026.
With this initiative, the Museums of Mequinenza seek to foster creativity and promote the dissemination of the municipality's natural, cultural and social heritage through photography, inviting both residents and visitors to share their perspective on the town.
