The judicial investigation into the authorization of several wind farms in the so-called Cinca Cluster continues to progress and has taken a new procedural step with the transfer of the case to a court in Zaragoza. One of the private prosecutors in this case is Ecologistas en Acción (Ecologists in Action ), represented by the law firm Heras Sasot Abogados.
The environmental organization warned more than a year ago of possible irregularities in the environmental permitting process for the parks promoted by Forestalia , located in various municipalities in Huesca. The investigation seeks to determine whether administrative or environmental regulations were violated during the granting of the permits, which could have criminal consequences.
Initially, the case was being investigated in a court in Huesca. There, the permits granted by the Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (INAGA) were analyzed , and reports on the impact of the parks and their evacuation lines on protected species, such as the lesser kestrel, the Egyptian vulture, and the golden eagle, were reviewed.
