The fifth episode of this documentary series, this time dedicated to the province of Huesca, was broadcast on Monday, August 10, coinciding with the celebration of Saint Lawrence's Day.
The traditional clothing of Fraga is part of the fifth chapter of the documentary series 'Passion and Tradition' , dedicated on this occasion to Huesca and premiered this Monday, August 10, coinciding with the celebration of the Day of San Lorenzo.
The documentary delves into the culture, clothing and jota of Huesca and features the participation of three specialists in traditional clothing: Teresa Oliván Usieto , expert in shawls and author of A Life with a Shawl ; Rosita Hernández Galicia , specialist in Fraga clothing and author of Fraga, Traditional Clothing ; and Mari Ángel Buesa Pueyo , specialist in the clothing of the Aragonese Pyrenees.
The Fraga presence is completed with the participation of the costume designer Nieves Navarro , along with Rosita Hernández, in the dissemination of the Fraga tradition.
Shawls, clothing and jota
The episode was filmed in various locations and explores different aspects of Huesca's heritage and traditions. These include shawls, the ivory faces that adorn them, the dances of the Rapatán festival, the San Lorenzo procession, and the tradition of the Día de la Faldeta (Day of the Skirt).
The jota also plays a prominent role in the documentary, with the participation of Marta Gil Espeleta, Gabriel Alonso Rubio, Javier Badules Codesal, Lucía López Muguerza and David Claver López , all linked to singing, dancing and the rondalla.
The program includes, among other content, the jota of Tardienta, performed during the journey to the hermitage of Santa Quiteria, and a performance of S'ha feito de nuey , sung in Cheso.
A project without funding and dedicated to tradition
'Passion and Tradition' is directed by María José Gutiérrez López , an expert in antique Manila shawls, and is produced by Latente García.
As the series itself explains, it is a non-profit project without funding , promoted by Gutiérrez López with the aim of preserving and disseminating the shawls, clothing, culture and traditions.
