Students from schools in Fraga have discovered this tool that allows them to discover new literary releases.
More than 600 young people have visited the Fraga Municipal Library Network in recent weeks to enjoy the new literary selections in the Cartoné Guide. These children, from schools in Fraga, Miralsot, and Litera, have had the opportunity to learn firsthand about this guide, which is compiled annually by the municipal librarians and features the best books, picture books, and comics with the aim of encouraging a love of reading among young people.
Cartoné, which is available in physical format but can also be accessed through the Fraga City Council website, is divided into seven sections: discovering reading/early readers, I can read on my own, I enjoy reading, I dare to read long books, comics/graphic novels, poetry, and books to learn and play.
The Councillor for Culture, María José Barrafón, commented that “the Cartoné Guide is already a classic in Fraga's libraries and a benchmark for reading among the youngest residents of our city.” “This series of recommendations is a much-anticipated document in many homes and is also very useful for schools, as it serves as a guide in Fraga's classrooms,” she said.
Barrafón also expressed her satisfaction with the children's reading club 'Fraga Reads', coordinated by Sandra Araguás. "During these first months of the year, this workshop has been held and has been very well received," the councilwoman stated, adding that 'Fraga Reads' will resume in September.
