The Fiscal and Border Patrol (PAFIF) of the Civil Guard and the Fraga Post arrest 2 people for the sale of apparently counterfeit objects and clothing
The total value of the seized items could amount to approximately 6.000 euros on the market.
Among the services regularly carried out by the Fiscal and Border Patrol of the Civil Guard of the Huesca Command, is the prevention and prosecution of smuggling, fraud and other tax-related offenses. Therefore, on January 15, together with the Civil Guard of Fraga, a series of inspections were carried out in several establishments in that town due to the possible sale of counterfeit or dubious-origin items.
During the inspections it was found that, although in some establishments the items checked were authentic and the owners were able to show their delivery notes and purchase invoices from well-known companies in the sector, in two of them items were found that aroused the suspicions of the Civil Guard agents.
Once the objects susceptible to counterfeiting were detected, the managers of the affected businesses were asked to present any documentation they had on the origin of these items, which they were unable to provide in some cases.
Meanwhile, the Civil Guard specialists, always taking into account the manufacturing characteristics and quality of the product, carried out the necessary checks on site to confirm that the suspicious items were not authentic, as could be verified.
This led to the seizure of a batch of lighters for sale that were imitations of a well-known brand. A total of 350 counterfeit items of underwear, as well as handbags and wallets, were also seized for analysis by the manufacturer. The total value of the seized goods was approximately €6.000.
The Civil Guard station in Fraga initiated proceedings for an alleged crime against industrial property, which were handed over to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Fraga, leaving the defendants, men aged 56 and 36 years old and residents of Fraga, free pending being summoned by the judicial authority.
