The Santa Agatoclia Vocational Training Centre in Mequinenza begins the course with 67 students enrolled in Basic and Intermediate Vocational Training
The 2024-2025 school year has begun at the Santa Agatoclia Vocational Training Center in Mequinenza. A total of 67 students have enrolled, coming from the towns of Fraga, Torrente de Cinca, Osso de Cinca, Fayón, Seros, and Mequinenza. Of these, 24 are enrolled in the Basic Vocational Training (FPB) programs in commercial services and electricity and electronics, while the remaining 43 are enrolled in the Intermediate Vocational Training (GM) program in electrical and automatic installations, which has been offered at the center since the 2022-2023 academic year.
Among the key new features planned by the Center for the upcoming academic year is the launch of an Applied Technology Classroom, known as the Ateca classroom, which will modernize the Vocational Training system through digitalization and innovation. It incorporates new digital technologies applied to teaching so that student training aligns with the practical experience they will gain in their professional lives, thus advancing the digitalization of Vocational Training. First-year students in the Intermediate Vocational Training program will also be able to complete four-week work placements in companies to gain exposure to the job market, bringing forward some of the placements that were previously carried out in the final term of the second year.
The rest of the educational and training programs continue to focus on project-based learning, developing skills applicable in professional settings. In this way, students in any of the offered programs develop the skills acquired during the course and put them into practice in real-world scenarios presented in the classroom. These projects, once completed, are showcased at fairs such as the Technology Market organized by the University of Lleida (UdL), thus providing students with opportunities to connect with the university world as a potential stepping stone to further their education.
