These subsidies are in addition to the Rural Schools Plan, which has invested one million euros every year since the beginning of the legislature.
The Huesca Provincial Council has approved a package of seven investments totaling €340.000 to continue improving schools in rural areas. Specifically, the projects will benefit the towns of Albelda, Campo, Castejón de Sos, Monzón, Plan, Sabiñánigo, and Sariñena. These grants are in addition to the Rural Schools Plan, which, since the beginning of this legislative term, has invested one million euros annually (€500.000 from the Provincial Council of Huesca and €500.000 from the Government of Aragon) in the maintenance of schools in our villages.
With the funding approved by the full council this Friday, the Albelda town council will carry out energy efficiency upgrades and improvements at the local public school. This investment is similar to the one the Campo town council will make at the CEIP Cerbín school, where, for example, a new heating system will be installed.
The Castejón de Sos town council, for its part, will replace the fencing of the playground at the CRA Alta Ribagorza.
The town councils of Monzón, Sabiñánigo and Sariñena are going to undertake the renovation of the toilets in the public schools La Alegría (which requires urgent action) and in the CEIP Montecorona and CEIP La Laguna.
Finally, the Plan town council is going to replace the woodwork in its school with the aim of also contributing to savings and greater energy efficiency of the building.
The Extraordinary Provincial Development Plan was unanimously approved
The plan will allocate 15,9 million to municipal investments, of which 12,8 million can be freely decided by the municipalities for works, equipment, land or actions related to municipal housing.
New this year, 3,2 million euros are earmarked for accessibility and energy efficiency projects, including actions such as the removal of architectural barriers, the improvement of public buildings, renewable energy, and the modernization of street lighting.
In addition, another 4 million will be allocated to municipal roads through a specific call for proposals in September, with new distribution criteria adapted to the territorial reality and the agricultural and livestock activity of the municipalities.
