The Environment Minister indicated that the payment from the municipalities in the territory does not cover the amount and that the increase should have been decided in the previous term
In a regular plenary session, the Bajo Cinca district council approved a 60% increase in the municipal solid waste tax. The proposal received votes in favor from the People's Party (PP) and Entre Todos Bajo Baix Cinca, while the Socialist Party (PSOE), Tú Aragón, and Vox voted against it. The councilor for urban waste and the environment, Francisco Javier Ibarz, argued that the payments from the municipalities do not cover the costs, and pointed out that the measure is in response to the application of Law 7/2022, which imposes a tax of €40 per ton starting in January 2023.
