The budget amounts to more than 7,5 million euros, representing an increase of 18,03% compared to 2023, with the urban waste and environment area showing the greatest growth.
In the plenary session of March 27, among other points, the budgets for 2024 were approved with votes in favor from the PP, VOX and Entre Todos Bajo/Baix Cinca groups and votes against from PSOE and Tú Aragón.
According to information provided by the regional authority, the budget allocated to investments has increased by more than 500%. This includes investments in the area of urban waste and the environment, specifically for the construction of a new composting plant, the digitization of urban waste collection trucks, and the collection of used cooking oil. This increase has been made possible thanks to a 90% subsidy from the Government of Aragon through the ERDF and NEXT funds.
The Bajo/Baix Cinca region has also indicated that the budget allocated to subsidies for organizations and associations has been increased by 26,33%. Furthermore, in the area of social services, an addendum has been made to the Home Help Service (SAD) and another to the Specific Programs (PEF) that will allow for improved service.
