The Fraga-Bajo Cinca Athletics Club delivered an outstanding performance last Saturday, July 4th, in Zaragoza, the venue for the Aragon U20 Championships and a federated time trial. The Fraga team returned with three regional medals and several impressive performances, confirming the excellent form of several of its athletes during this crucial stage of the outdoor season.
One gold and two silver medals in the Under-20 regional championship
Speed was once again one of the club's greatest strengths. Iván Gros was crowned runner-up in Aragon in the 100 meters dash after stopping the clock at 11.02 seconds, a time that represents a new personal best and confirms his progress in the event.
Álex Margalló also climbed to the second step of the podium , the regional runner-up in the 400 meter hurdles after completing a race that allowed him to stay very close to his best mark of the season.
The regional title came from Fadwa Lachab , who dominated the 3.000 meter steeplechase and was proclaimed Aragon Under-20 champion after clearly winning a race that she controlled from the beginning.
Both Iván Gros and Fadwa Lachab are now awaiting the publication of the official lists of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, which will determine their presence in the Spanish Under-20 Championship , scheduled for the coming weeks in Albacete.
Mariona Salamó breaks the 12-second barrier for the first time
Alongside the regional championship, a federated control was held in which outstanding results were also achieved by the athletes from Fraga.
Mariona Salamó was once again one of the stars of the day, clocking 11,80 seconds in the 100 meters , a new career best. This time also represents a significant step forward for the sprinter from Fraga, who continues to establish herself as one of the leading speedsters in Aragon.
Awa Sangaré also stood out , competing in both the long jump and triple jump. Her best result came in the long jump, where she reached 4,93 meters, setting a new personal best with a legal wind.
