Ingrid is a resident of Mequinenza and has won the €200 prize in this year's edition, out of 10 proposals submitted.
Ingrid Godia Blasco, a 20-year-old architecture student and design enthusiast, has created the poster that will represent the 2026 "La Santa" festivities in Mequinenza. Her design, titled "La Santa i les nostres coses" (The Saint and Our Things), was chosen as the winner of the competition organized by the Mequinenza Town Council and comes with a €200 prize.
Godia, who will begin his third year of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) next year, expresses in his proposal a personal view of the festivals and those elements that are part of the collective imagination and identity of Mequinenza.
The poster features a graphic composition of vibrant colors and geometric shapes, with red as the predominant background, incorporating various recognizable references to the town and its festivities. These include Mequinenza Castle, the river, the "correfocs" (fire run), the "tir de soga" (tug-of-war), and other elements linked to the local heritage and landscape. This combination infuses the image with the popular, festive, and lighthearted character of "La Santa" (the town's festival).
The title, “La Santa i les nostres coses”, precisely summarizes this intention of the author: to bring together in the same image the festival and “our things”, those symbols, spaces and elements that identify Mequinenza and that are part of the collective celebration of its residents.
The winning design was selected from the 10 proposals submitted to the competition by popular vote and the vote cast by the jury made up of Cintia Vivancos, member of the Festival Commission, Maite Roca, representing the Grup d'Art, Irma Rodes, representative of the peñas, and Luis Esteve, councilor for youth, festivals and events.
The award ceremony will take place during the Pre-Holy Week, coinciding with the opening of the Grup d'Art painting exhibition, which can be visited in the Miguel Ibarz Hall during the Holy Week festivities 2026, to be held in Mequinenza from September 16 to 20.
