The robberies affected companies in the provinces of Huesca, Zaragoza, Lleida, Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Castellón, and the stolen computer equipment is valued at around 700.000 euros.
The Civil Guard and the Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested four people as alleged perpetrators of 72 crimes of theft with force of computer equipment inside companies , in addition to four crimes of document forgery and another of belonging to an organized criminal group.
The investigation, called OP. SISROB-NOTEBOOK , has been developed jointly by the Territorial Team of Judicial Police (ETPJ) of the Civil Guard of Barbastro, belonging to the Organic Unit of Judicial Police (UOPJ) of the Command of the Civil Guard of Huesca, and the Heritage Group of the Territorial Investigation Unit of Ponent of the Mossos d'Esquadra Police Station of Lleida.
The incidents occurred between October 2025 and July 2026 in various locations across seven provinces. Specifically, 9 robberies were solved in Huesca, 7 in Zaragoza, 13 in Lleida, 23 in Barcelona, 6 in Girona, 11 in Tarragona, and 2 in Castellón.
The value of the stolen goods, mainly mobile phones, computers and iPads , amounts to about 700.000 euros.
A group with high geographical mobility
The investigation began through inter-police cooperation channels and made it possible to identify the members of the organized criminal group, which, according to the investigation, acted with high geographical mobility and repeated criminal activity.
The modus operandi involved a minimum of three or four people in each operation. Two or three of them would break into the businesses at night, while another remained outside in a rental car, acting as a lookout.
These vehicles were rented using false identities. Furthermore, during the commission of the crimes, the perpetrators wore their faces completely covered to hinder their identification.
The actions were carried out quickly and precisely, demonstrating, according to the investigation, prior knowledge of the access points and vulnerable points of the establishments.
The organization maintained a high level of criminal activity and a high degree of geographical mobility. It also employed third parties responsible for quickly disposing of the stolen computer equipment.
Four arrested in Barcelona and Sant Boi
On September 1st , the agents proceeded to arrest four people in the towns of Barcelona and Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona).
They are four men, aged between 25 and 53 and residents of the province of Barcelona , who are allegedly responsible for 72 crimes of robbery with force, four crimes of document forgery and one of belonging to an organized criminal group.
The proceedings, along with the detainees, were handed over to the Court of First Instance and Instruction, Plaza 1 of Monzón , and the detainees were released with precautionary measures.
