CP Esneca Fraga faces one of the most important matches of the season this Saturday in the semifinals of the 2026 Iberdrola Queen's Cup. The Fraga team will take on CP Vila-sana Coop. d'Ivars at 16:30 p.m. in a duel between two of the current leading teams in Spanish women's roller hockey.
The team managed by Jordi Capdevila reached this semi-final after defeating Cerdanyola CH 2-1 in a closely contested quarter-final. Carla Fontdeglòria put the Bajo Cinca side ahead in the first half, while Adriana Soto scored the decisive goal shortly after Laura Valverde had equalized for the Catalan team.
Esneca Fraga managed to maintain their lead in the final minutes thanks in part to Anna Ferrer's saves, especially on a direct free kick taken by Gemma Solé. With this victory, the Fraga club reached its fourth consecutive semifinal in the cup competition and confirmed their excellent form following their recent European championship win.
Meanwhile, CP Vila-sana Coop. d'Ivars secured their place in the semifinals after defeating Martinelia CP Manlleu 2-1. The team from Pla d'Urgell overcame Valentina Fernández's opening goal with strikes from Aina Florenza and Luchi Agudo.
The clash between Fraga and Lleida will once again bring together two teams accustomed to competing at the highest level, both in the OK Liga Iberdrola and in major national tournaments. The close matches in the quarterfinals suggest a very intense and open semifinal, with a place in Sunday's final at stake.
The other semifinal of the tournament will pit this afternoon the winners of the matches between Telecable HC and Generali HC Palau, as well as between Bembibre HC and ORKLA Bigues i Riells.
The final of the 2026 Iberdrola Queen's Cup will be played on Sunday at 13:00.
