During the month of March, approximately 1500 tourists enjoyed leisure and tourism activities in the capital of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region.
For inland destinations that do not have beaches, mountains or, a priori, outstanding tourist attractions, it can be difficult to attract visitors, but in recent years, the city of Fraga has positioned itself as a benchmark in leisure activities with a special focus on youth and school groups.
During the month of March, nearly 1.000 people have enjoyed the flowering activities in Fraga, in addition to visits to the Ice Well (BIC); some 500 young people from centers in Lleida, Bajo Cinca and Erasmus visits in the city, have participated in leisure and adventure activities and in April, the activities continue with Easter camps.

There are three key factors that, in recent years, have positioned Fraga as a benchmark for excursions and activities for young people and educational centers
First, its location and proximity . The capital of the Baix Cinca region is very close to and well-connected with the neighboring province and city of Lleida, as well as being not far from Huesca and Zaragoza. This makes it easy to reach the town quickly from these three provinces, allowing you to enjoy a full day of leisure without the round trip being a burden on your day trip.
The basic infrastructure that integrates the city and natural leisure areas , without requiring long journeys, is another fundamental element. The size of the city of Fraga means that long walks are unnecessary, and ample parking areas such as the Sotet esplanade or the vicinity of the Sports Complex facilitate parking for all types of visitors. Furthermore, the extensive river park and fishing pool, as well as other points of interest in the municipality, such as the pumptrack, climbing wall, pine forest, municipal swimming pools, and the Sports Complex, constitute a set of resources highly valued by school groups, allowing them to enjoy a wide range of activities in a single day: kayaking, paddle surfing, fishing, adventure activities, orienteering, sports, and more.
The third element, and certainly not the least important, is a business project with the necessary resources to offer these services. The leisure company Jovial Adventure organizes most of the excursions and leisure activities in Fraga and the surrounding area. They offer services and rentals of kayaks, paddleboards, archery, fishing, slacklining, orienteering, nature games, workshops, and more. They provide a comprehensive service for excursions and groups, so organizers don't have to worry about a thing. Furthermore, they are currently running their spring camp this Easter week , and they have already prepared their first local summer camp in Fraga.

All these factors, and others, are positioning Fraga as a leading destination for excursions and tourism for schools and school groups. An increasing number of municipalities, schools, and institutes are choosing the capital of the Bajo/Baix Cinca region for its unique characteristics, proximity, and easy access.
Growth and Improvements
About two years ago, the Fraga City Council expanded overnight accommodation options by creating the city's first municipal hostel, with a capacity for 49 guests. It is equipped with bunk beds, bathrooms and showers, a lounge area, and a kitchenette with refrigerators, washing machines, a dryer, and a microwave. This facility will allow for the organization of camps and summer programs, increasing tourism to the city. The hostel has already been used for sporting events such as the 10K race and the Pumptrack Championship, improving the experience and participation of those who register.
The pumptrack circuit and the municipal climbing wall are two more elements created in recent years that complete the leisure offer in the municipality.
Things to improve?
Clearly, improvements to the city are still needed. Upgrading the river park and the fishing pool are two important elements for continued growth. The Bajo/Baix Cinca Regional Tourism Sustainability Plan includes work in this area, and the Fraga City Council's Cinca Revive project will be a key element in enhancing the entire Cinca Riverbank as it flows through the city.
