The City Council will begin the works next week . The project has a cost of €368.000 and has received a grant of €250.000.
The works to renew Fraga's water supply pipeline will begin next week. This project, awarded for €368.500,18, aims to reduce water losses and guarantee the supply of water to the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP) that serves the city. In total, the pipeline renewal is expected to result in annual savings of 126.653,71 m³.
The work consists of the renewal of the pipeline that connects the municipal reservoir with the water treatment plant located in the Zafranales area, in the section that goes from the water treatment plant to the regulating reservoir, in a distance of 1.347 meters, where it will connect with the existing supply pipe that continues to the reservoir.
The Councillor for Urban Planning, Esther Rubio, has stated that this is a project "of special importance for the daily life of Fraga because it will guarantee the city's water supply and will allow us to reduce the amount of such a precious and necessary resource as water that is wasted."
During the construction work, access to properties within the affected area will remain as it currently is. However, alternative access routes to these properties and temporary traffic restrictions may be in place.
This improvement project in the water supply infrastructure is supported by a grant of 250.000 euros for the improvement of the supply and reduction of water losses in municipalities with fewer than 20.000 inhabitants, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (NextGeneration EU) within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
