The City Council and Peña Fragatina are organizing the festivities in honor of the patron saint of farmers, a day that will include activities for all ages.

The councilors for Festivals, Mapi Aquilué, and Agroindustry, Verónica Alins, along with the president of Peña Fragatina, Pau Enrech, presented at a press conference this Friday the activities with which Fraga will once again celebrate San Isidro, a festival honoring the patron saint of farmers and which was formerly celebrated in the capital of the Bajo Cinca region. With religious services, concerts by local musicians, and demonstrations of traditional crafts, the city will hold this festival on Saturday, May 18, outside the La Estacada municipal swimming pools.

The Mass in honor of Saint Isidore, which will begin at 9:00 a.m., will mark the start of the scheduled activities. Following the Mass, a community lunch will be served at 9:30 a.m. At 11:00 a.m., there will be horseback riding and demonstrations of traditional crafts. The vermouth gathering, hosted by Lorena Margalló, will begin at 12:30 p.m. and continue until 14:30 p.m.

In the afternoon, starting at 17:30 p.m., there will be a children's afternoon with inflatables and a card tournament, and at 19:30 p.m. the concert of the local group La Mochila de Pocholo will take place.

At night, at 23:30 p.m., there will be a light disco for younger people, followed by a concert by Chelico and MDM. Afterwards, a mobile disco will provide the grand finale to this revived San Isidro festival.

Alins, who thanked the San Isidro Association and the Fraga Equestrian Club for their collaboration, said that it was “a good idea, because recovering a tradition like this is a duty to the agricultural sector of our city, and it is very important that we show unity with the farmers, who really need it.”

“From the Department of Festivals, we continue to be committed to offering events that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages,” said Aquilué, who added that “it is also of great importance to us to recover festivities deeply rooted in such important sectors of our population as San Isidro.”

Finally, the president of the supporters' club commented that, "just like last year around this time and in a different context, we celebrated the 50th Anniversary in collaboration with the City Council, and this year, when the San Isidro proposal came up, we also thought it appropriate to collaborate."
